Did you know that most of the village children's clothes and some school supplies were
donated by families that live in the cities.

The School

Due to the terrain of this mountain region, homes are heavily dispersed causing many children to walk for miles each way everyday to attend school. Most of the students' clothes, school bags and supplies are donated by families from big cities.

The condition of classrooms and school facilities is very poor. They often do not have a library, science labs, computer labs, or a gym. Based on the Government report, the percentage of teachers qualified to teach junior and high schools are 88% and 26% respectively. Consequently, the student’s graduation rates are substantially below the national average.

However, these children do have one thing in common; they have good spirits as well as the willingness and ther determination to change their lives for the better.
